This class is designed for those individuals collecting and analyzing air samples as part of an asbestos abatement project. The first part of this class focuses on collecting the samples, proper use of pumps and calibration techniques. Then the emphasis shifts to the PCM analysis using NIOSH Method 7400. Students are shown how to set up and calibrate their microscopes, prepare slides and perform the fiber counting procedure. Approximately 30 hours of the class is dedicated to direct student contact time with the equipment listed in the Method.
There are no currently scheduled classes, however PTA can conduct this course for groups either at our training center or onsite at a client's facility. Contact Greg Ashman for further information.
