Workers exposed to respirable crystalline silica are at increased risk of developing serious health effects including silicosis, lung cancer, COPD and kidney disease. OSHA has promulgated a new regulation that employers must follow in order to control these exposures. This class describes the necessary steps required to protect employees in construction workplaces and complies with the non-employer specific parts of 1926.1153(i)(2): Employee Information and Training. Topics include: Health hazards associated with silica exposure; specific workplace tasks that could expose employees and required methods of control; respiratory protection and medical surveillance program.

There are no currently scheduled classes, however PTA can conduct this course for groups either at our training center or onsite at a client's facility. Contact Greg Ashman for further information.
